Why I'm glad I don't live in Brevard County anymore: reason #74

Actually, there probably are more than 74 reasons that I hate Brevard County -- and no offense to the sensible people living there (the few, the proud ...), but besides the fact that I saw two Huggy Bear bumper stickers there in the span of five fucking minutes after only seeing one in the last ten days in more normal places, the attitudes of the Brevard variety of wingnut are what I find truly reprehensible.

To wit: the first of the two aforementioned stickers read thusly:

McCAIN [flag] PALIN
A Hero & A Hottie!

Even assuming for the sake of argument that both labels are true (and I hasten to add that I concede neither), how disgustingly shallow and irrelevant -- yet oh so telling -- is it that a (Brevard!) Republican crows about the physical attributes of their candidate?

Could it be that there's nothing substantive one can say in her favor? Hmmm ...
