Remember Charlie Crist's wedding? It's still on

Despite rumors that Florida Gov. Charlie Crist's engagement was timed conveniently for Huggy Bear's running-mate announcement, the wedding is going forward as scheduled on December 12.

Invitations to Gov. Charlie Crist's upcoming nuptials are in the mail, and the guest list to the Dec. 12 event has become a source of chatter around the state.

The cream and pale pink invitations to Crist and fiancee Carole Rome's ceremony at First United Methodist Church in St. Petersburg began arriving last week.

State Rep. Darryl Rouson, D-St. Petersburg, said his fellow legislators are wondering who has been invited to the ceremony, which is black-tie optional.

Guests who are planning to attend won't be bringing gifts to the wedding's reception at the Renaissance Vinoy Resort.

A card enclosed in the invitations reads: "No gifts please, due to Florida law."
Let's just say I'm not watching my mailbox with bated breath.
